Mission Statement

Up Ending Parkinson’s empowers people with Parkinson’s to move, connect, and rediscover what they are capable of through supportive, adaptive climbing and accessible movement opportunities.

About

Up Ending Parkinson’s is a national nonprofit dedicated to improving the lives of people living with Parkinson’s disease through movement, community, and adaptive climbing. What began in 2012 as a small climbing group in Virginia has grown into a network of more than 75 partnering gyms across the United States, offering weekly programs that help participants build strength, confidence, and meaningful connection. UEP provides accessible climbing sessions supported by trained volunteers, along with education, outreach, and research partnerships that highlight the power of movement for people with Parkinson’s. Our mission is to create welcoming spaces where individuals can rediscover what they are capable of and experience the life changing impact of community and challenge.
